On the edge at "Diggle Edge"
The Rallymans Rally

On Friday the 13th, l was able to step outside the bubble early and take leave from the house work, shopping, dusting, clothes washing, ironing and within a few miles l was traversing the Peak District National Park crossing into South Yorkshire via "The Strines" . West Yorkshire was next and with Meltham being a area for Totem Poles! My route was just over 55 miles before l arrived at the www.carriage-house.co.uk.

A Rallymans best friend must be his Poodles! (check out the cool dog shades!)

The weather was high pressure with nil clouds and wall to wall SUNSHINE, however very cold and frosty at night for us hardy campers. Some outfits have a wonderful 'heat exchange" to keep the other half happy!

Saturday morning was a cool start to the day, however soon had my walking boots on and ready to check out Castleshaw Roman Fort on the Pennine Way, then l left the EGDE and descended into the Diggle and Uppermill http://www.saddleworth.net ; called into the local Museum and found a few classics, also if you have a sweet tooth try this shop.

Now 1330pm must return via the www.huddersfieldcanal.com ; towpath, walking under the Uppermill Viaduct and onto the Standedge Tunnel. Had a tea stop from my flask and a ham cob then l took a deep breath and started climbing the "Oldham Way" over the top to the rally site.

Yes l enjoy my Rallymans Rally in real "Vinter" ideal conditions, with my return journey on the Sunday l crossed over into Derbyshire via the Holme Moss Summit and Snake Pass, however the http://woodheadmrt.org ; had responded to SHOUT (999 call) and was in attendance at Snake summit for a incident/rescue on moors.

Bye for now from the edge. Michael.
